Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has finally made it clear that there is no possibility of postponement of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) (Undergraduate) 2022.

As part of his address during India Today Education Conclave held recently, Pradhan spoke on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the way by which it is transforming the education system in the country.

When he was asked about the demand of students to postpone the NEET UG 2022, the Union Minister said, “Students are always anxious. All our senior principals are here, educationists are here, they face this problem every month."

He further said, "Every month there is an evaluation, every month there is an examination, students come to them, 'madam this not done, I have not prepared, please extend that.'”

“They are facing it every month, I am facing it annually,” the Education Minister added.

On possible extension of NEET UG exam date, Pradhan said, "I think, a majority of students have already prepared to face the examination."

Earlier, president of the National Students Union of India (NSUI), Neeraj Kundan had also written to the Union Education Minister for the postponement of NEET UG 2022.

In his letter to the Minister, Kundan had urged to consider the demand of the lakhs of NEET UG 2022 exam aspirants and not to conduct or end the exam in a ‘hurry’.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the medical entrance examination on July 17. Those qualify in NEET UG will get admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, Bachelor of Ayurveda, BSMS, BHMS, BUMS, and BSc (H) Nursing courses.
