The National Testing Agency (NTA) is all set to conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) (Undergraduate) 2022 on July 17. Since the announcement of the exam date, students have been demanding postponement of NEET UG to at least by September.

However, recently when Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was asked about the demand of the students, he said 'students are always anxious'. As part of his address during India Today Education Conclave, he said,  “Students are always anxious. All our senior principals are here, educationists are here, they face this problem every month."

"Every month there is an evaluation, every month there is an examination, students come to them, 'madam this not done, I have not prepared, please extend that'. They are facing it every month, I am facing it annually,” the Education Minister said.

These comments of Dharmendra Pradhan seem to have not gone well with the aspirants of the medical entrance examination who accused the Union Minister of 'making fun of the genuine demand of the students'.

A Twitter user wrote, "See the way he (Education Minister) is talking as if he knows everything..abt the situation of students. how can he be so sure abt our preparation when we r not?when time is not provided how can preparation be done? had he ever given any entrance?"

"...Unit test ko NEET se compare kr diya, students ki genuine problems ko sarcastically address kiya, at least seriously mature person ki tarah bol dete nhi ho skta postpone... thodi maturity dikhaiye," wrote another user.

"Please pradhanji we are serious millions of aspirants whos whole families future is at stake..it might not affect you, else money, but is money more precious than future drs life, please look into medicos, every year ug and pg aspirants sucide.why? think of it sir😦🙏," wrote another user.

Another aspirant rued, "I can't understand! R u serious!..Are we students a joke! He is saying we say this annually. Its bcoz u r unfair annually. Our stress, our anxiety meant nothing to them. Even if few students are ending their life, if its not affecting thier political career then its totally fine."

However, on any possibility of extension of NEET UG exam date, the Union Education Minister stated, "I think, a majority of students have already prepared to face the examination."

Those, who will qualify in the NEET UG  2022, will get admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, Bachelor of Ayurveda, BSMS, BHMS, BUMS, and BSc (H) Nursing courses.
