Putting an end to all speculations, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) PG 2021 will be held on September 11, 2021.

Originally scheduled for April 18, the exam was first postponed on April 15 following opposition over the conduct of the exam during Covid-19 pandemic situation. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Tuesday announced the date for the NEET PG 2021.

“As per the announcement today by the Hon. Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India, the NEET-PG 2021 has been rescheduled to be held on 11th September 2021. The examination shall be conducted in the morning session, from 09:00 AM to 12:30 PM,” a notification issued by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences read.

 

A total of 175063 applications have been registered for NEET-PG 2021.

Admit Cards issued earlier for examination on April 18, 2021 shall be treated as “null & void”. Fresh admit cards shall be issued to already registered candidates, schedule for which shall be notified on NBEMS website in due course.

In view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has increased the number of test sites and centres for NEET-PG 2021. The NEET-PG 2021 shall be held in more than 260 cities at around 800 test centres across the country.

All the candidates shall be provided with a protective face shield, face mask and sanitizer sachets individually at test centres.

In another development, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has invited online applications for NEET (UG) – 2021 for admission to the undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions in India.

As per Section 14 of The National Medical Commission Act, 2019, the NEET (UG) has to be conducted as a common and uniform National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET UG) for admission to undergraduate medical education in all medical institutions, including those governed under any other law in force.

NEET (UG) – 2021 will be conducted in 13 languages - English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

In order to ensure that the candidate data is submitted fast, the Application Form for NEET (UG) – 2021 has been divided into two sets/phases. The first set of information needs to be filled up before the last date of submission of the Application Form online. The second set of information needs to be filled up by the candidates before the declaration of the result/ downloading of Score Card during the period that would be notified separately through NEET (UG) portal in due course.

The NEET (UG) – 2021 shall consist of one question paper containing 180 multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology).
