The results of the much awaited Class 10 (matriculation) examination were announced in Odisha on Friday. A whopping 97.89 per cent students have passed the board examination.

The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) which conducts the annual high school certificate examination today said that the students who are not satisfied with the results can appear for the examination which will be held after the Covid-19 situation improves in the State.

The BSE president said that the results of the matric examination was decided as per the assessment policy which was earlier fixed.

“We have tried to ensure that the results are in favour of students. Through various stages of verification, the results were announced today and there have been no irregularities in the publication,” said BSE President, Ramashis Hazra.

According to Hazra, the students who could not appear the examination, those who are not satisfied with the results and regular students of correspondence course can appear the examination which will be held in subsequent phases.

“We will conduct the exam after reviewing the Covid situation. The students will have fill up forms and the registration process is likely to begin from July 5,” said Hazra.

The BSE president said that tentatively the physical examination and results will be announced by August this year.

It is pertinent to mention here that of the 5,74,125 students, who had enrolled for the matriculation exams, 5,62,010 students cleared the exams this year.

The exam results were published through a special evaluation criteria which was earlier announced following the cancellation of matric exams owing to Covid-19 pandemic this year.
