Cracking UPSC, India’s toughest exam is not everyone’s cup of tea. It takes years of dedication, hard work, determination and most importantly consistency to crack this examination.
Today, we bring to you the inspiring journey of IAS Shraddha Gome who cracked UPSC with AIR-60. This remarkable journey of Shraddha Gome from being a Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) topper to an IAS officer will serve as an inspiration to those who are feeling low and want to give up.
Hailing from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Shraddha completed her schooling at St. Raphael’s HS School in Indore. Daughter of an SBI officer, she was the topper in her matriculation and intermediate exams. For her higher education, Shraddha decided to pursue law.
She appeared for the CLAT examination and went on to become the topper in the exam and got admission to National Law School of India University (NLSIU) in Bangalore, one of the most prestigious law colleges in India.
IAS Shraddha was so talented that she won at least 13 gold medals during her graduation. She was felicitated by then Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra.
Despite being the topper in Law, Shraddha knew her life’s calling. She wanted to become an IAS officer and give it back to the society. So, she returned back to Indore and started her UPSC preparation.
Instead of attending coaching, she decided to do self-studies by gathering study material online. For an optional subject, she read her notes from NLSIU.
Without fail, she used to study for 9-10 hours a day and her hard work finally paid off. She appeared for UPSC in 2021 and managed to clear the Prelims and Mains on her first attempt. She later moved to Delhi to prepare for the interview round and secured an All India Rank (AIR) 60.
Sharing her success story, IAS Shraddha Gome said, “Even when I was giving UPSC, I watched movies, read my favourite books, played badminton and spent time with my family. Yes, when I sat down to study, I would concentrate fully on it. Then, neither TV nor mobile or anything else.”
