IIM Sambalpur to introduce Independent Admission Process for MBA Programme 2025-27

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Sambalpur has announced a significant change in its admission process for the upcoming 2025-27 academic session. Starting from the 2025-26 academic year, IIM Sambalpur will independently manage the admission process for its flagship MBA Programme. 

Besides, this new process will also apply to the newly launched MBA in Business Analytics (MBA-BA), which includes an option for a dual degree from an international institution.

The new measure aims to offer a more holistic experience by facilitating direct interaction between IIM Sambalpur and candidates.

A key feature of the new process is flexibility in conducting personal interviews. Candidates will have the option to choose between online or offline interviews, which can take place at IIM Sambalpur’s campus or its Delhi campus, providing maximum convenience.

Key features of the new admission process:

• Flexible Interview Modes: Candidates can choose between online or offline interviews.
• Simultaneous Admissions: Both the flagship MBA and the new MBA in Business Analytics (MBA-BA) will follow the same admission procedure.
• Personalized Interactions: Direct communication between IIM Sambalpur and candidates to provide a better assessment.

Admission timeline:

• Shortlisted candidates will be notified by January 10, 2025, and must register by January 25, 2025.
• The second list of candidates eligible for personal interviews will be announced soon after.
• Personal interviews will take place between March 3, 2025, and April 18, 2025, with online interviews held throughout this period. 
• Offline interviews will be conducted at IIM Sambalpur and Delhi campuses.
• The first merit list will be published by May 10, 2025, with subsequent lists released as necessary until all seats are filled.
