IIM Sambalpur rolls out first full-time MBA in Business Analytics program; check admission, eligibility details

IIM Sambalpur introduced its first full-time MBA program in Business Analytics at its Delhi campus at Vasant Kunj. The two-year course is aimed at upskilling professionals in advanced analytics, big data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

Details about the program were laid out on the institute’s official website on Tuesday, where it mentioned the admission policy for the first batch for the session 2025-2027.

Eligibility criteria and admission process

IIM-Sambalpur’s MBA in Business Analytics IIM follows a three-stage selection process and candidates with a high CAT percentile, STEM academic background, and one year of relevant work experience can apply for admission.

The minimum percentile applicable for the CAT-based selection process is 85 for the General category, 80 for EWS, 75 for NC-OBC, 55 for SC, and 40 for ST and DAP.

Meanwhile, for the second stage, all the candidates shortlisted in Stage 1 and who later successfully completed and submitted the online application form, a Pre-PI Score will be calculated out of 80 with a CAT score having 40 points, Class X with 3, Class XII with 3, Graduation with 4, relevant work experience with 20, and STEM academic background with 10 points.

Finally for Stage 3, based on the Stage 2 shortlist, all the eligible candidates will be called on to attend the personal interview (PI) process and a final merit list will be prepared.

Dual Degree Opportunity

Incidentally, IIM Sambalpur has signed an MoU with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, for a dual-degree course, offering a globally oriented, interdisciplinary education. In 2024, AIT's MBA program ranked 23rd in Asia and among the top 200 globally by QS Global MBA Rankings.

Under this program, students will spend their first year at IIM Sambalpur’s Delhi campus, with an option to study at AIT, Thailand, during their second year. Successful completion will earn them a dual degree in Business Analytics and a one-year extended work visa in Thailand, facilitating an international professional career start.

Additional Programs

As of now, IIM Sambalpur also offers an MBA in Fintech Management in collaboration with Sorbonne Business School, Paris, and an Executive PhD and DBA program in partnership with Bordeaux University School of Management.
