ICSE & ISC Results 2025 declared: Over 99% pass percentage, girls outshine boys again
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) announced the results for the ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) board exams on Wednesday at 11:00 am. Candidates can access their results through the official CISCE website (https://results.cisce.org), the CAREERS portal, or Digilocker.
Over 3.5 Lakh Students Appeared
A press release from the council detailed key stats, including that a total of 2,52,557 students appeared for the ICSE Class 10 exams this year, while 99,551 students sat for the ISC Class 12 exams.
Among the ICSE candidates, 53.33% were boys and 46.67% were girls. For ISC, 52.58% were boys and 47.42% were girls.
Despite the large turnout, the overall results remained impressive. The ICSE recorded a pass percentage of 99.09%, while the ISC pass rate stood at 99.02%.
Girls Perform Better Across the Board
Girls outshone boys in both ICSE and ISC exams. In the Class 10 exams, girls achieved a pass percentage of 99.37%, surpassing the boys’ 98.84%. A similar trend was seen in the Class 12 results, where girls secured a 99.45% pass rate, compared to 98.64% among boys.
Out of the total ICSE students, 1,561 boys and 747 girls did not pass. For ISC, 713 boys and 260 girls were unsuccessful.

South and West India Shine
When it comes to regional performance, Western India led in the ICSE exams with a pass percentage of 99.83%, followed closely by the Southern region at 99.73%. The lowest pass percentage was recorded by foreign candidates at 93.39%.
In the ISC exams, Southern India took the lead with a 99.76% success rate, followed by the West with 99.72%. Foreign students had a 97.96% pass rate in this category. The Northern region had the highest number of candidates for both ICSE and ISC exams.
Interestingly, the Southern region also recorded the highest percentage of girls appearing for the exams — 49.58% for ICSE and 50.11% for ISC — reflecting a positive trend in gender representation.
Exam Subjects and Language Diversity
The ICSE exams were conducted across 67 subjects, which included 20 Indian languages, 14 foreign languages, and one classical language. The ISC covered 47 subjects, including 12 Indian languages, 4 foreign languages, and two classical languages.
Performance of Marginalised Groups
Students from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) also showed strong performances.
In ICSE:
- 16,304 SC students appeared; 98.71% passed.
- 9,142 ST students appeared; 97.28% passed.
- 61,919 OBC students appeared; 99.13% passed.
In ISC:
- 5,387 SC students appeared; 98.57% passed.
- 3,596 ST students appeared; 98.67% passed.
- 17,495 OBC students appeared; 99.06% passed.
Support for Special Needs Students
CISCE continues to offer inclusive education by supporting students with disabilities. In ICSE, 1,184 candidates with learning difficulties appeared, and 112 of them scored above 90%. Among the 48 visually challenged students, 13 achieved over 90%.
In ISC, 257 students with learning difficulties took the exam, with 29 scoring above 90%. Of the 17 visually challenged students, six scored more than 90%.
Meanwhile, the Council also declared that the improvement exams for Class 10 (ICSE) and Class 12 (ISC) will be conducted in July. Dates for the same are yet to be announced.
