A fraudster scammed Class 10 students in Nilagiri, Balasore, promising cheat papers for Rs 10,000 each. The victims realised the fraud after no answers were provided. Police arrested a suspect as investigations continue.

In a concerning revelation, several class 10 students appearing for the Matric exam conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) were allegedly tricked out of money on the false promise of providing cheat papers.

The fraudster tricked the students that he would provide them with cheat papers and took Rs 10,000 each from everyone. The bizarre incident has been reported from Balasore’s Nilagiri region. 

How The Scam Unfolded:

The fraudster has reportedly duped numerous students by promising to supply them with exam answers. The students, mostly those appearing for distance Matriculation exams, were the targets of the fraudster. With deceitful claims, the perpetrator approached the students and took money from everyone.

However, the students learned of being cheated after no answers were delivered on the first day of the exam.

Police Intervention & Subsequent Action:

The situation escalated after the fraudster failed to provide answer sheets to the students. Angry students and their guardians then confronted the fraudster after the first day of the exam. Law enforcement agencies were promptly informed, leading to the arrest of a suspect. An investigation is currently in progress to uncover further details about the scam.

The incident has raised concerns over academic ethics and the vulnerability of students to such fraudulent schemes. Residents and education officials urge stronger safeguards and awareness to protect students from similar scams in the future.

What the victims have alleged:

“He had told us that he had contacts in the Boards and promised to provide us answer sheets. For that, he charged us with Rs 10,000. However, we were cheated as he did not give us any answer sheets,” alleged a student.
