CBSE CTET 2021 Registration & Exam Dates Announced, Check All Details
In a significant crackdown, Bihar police arrested around 30 people for impersonating candidates and appearing in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2024 exam on Sunday.
The purpose of the exam, CTET, is to assess the eligibility of the candidates for the role of teachers in government schools.
Investigating official, familiar with the matter told Hindustan Times, “Police are also investigating whether the arrested persons have links with any interstate cheating syndicate.”
According to reports, the examination centres had alerted the police about these candidates when they failed the biometrics fingerprint scans.
SSP Jagunath Jala Reddy said that nine impostors were booked under the Laheriasarai police station, two were booked under the Sadar police station and one was booked under the jurisdiction of Bahadurpur police station.
DIG Rajeev Mishra, in charge of Patna SSP, confirmed that 10 arrests were made from Bihta, Khagaul, Maner and Danapur police station areas. The accused persons belong to Purnia, Rohtas and Munger districts. The cases were registered under section 318 (4) of BNS, reported HT.
According to reports, some of the impersonators charged Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000 to appear on behalf of the registered candidates. Besides, two of the arrested accused confessed that they were offered Rs 50,000 each.
