The crucial Term 1 Examinations for class 10 and 12 students, conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), will commence on November 17 and November 16, respectively. This will be the first bifurcated board exams for the students adopted by the CBSE to ensure effective evaluation in case of any further resurgence of Covid-19 pandemic situation in the country.
For the first time, CBSE will be holding the board exams for assessment of Class 10 and 12 students using the Optical mark recognition (OMR) sheet.
The Board has said that the Mock Test for downloading of Encrypted Question paper will be held tomorrow, on November 15, 2021.
The Second term of the examination is expected to be held in March-April next year.
Here Are Important Information For CBSE Class 10 & 12 Students:
-CBSE is offering 114 subjects in Class 12 and 75 subjects in Class 10
-The examination will be conducted for 189 subjects
-The first term will have Multiple Choice Questions
-The examination shall be of 90 minutes duration.
-The examination will start from 11:30 AM instead of 10:30 AM keeping in view the winter session.

Features Of OMR:
-Students have to write question paper code in the upper right corner.
-Only blue/black ball point pen is to be used for filling desired information and for giving response.
-Use of pencil is strictly prohibited. If it is found that the candidate has used pencil for filling OMR, this will be considered as use of unfair means and action will be taken against the candidate as per unfair means rule.
-There will be space for answering 60 questions in OMR irrespective of total questions given in question paper of any subject.
Renowned educationist P.S. Kandpal said many examinations have been conducted on similar pattern.
According to the CBSE, for Class 10 students, internal assessment marks have been divided into two parts -- ten-ten each. Similarly for Class 12, it has been divided into 15-15 marks.
As per date sheet released by the Board, examination for minor subjects will be held from November 16-17 while for major subjects from December 1.
For Class 12 students, the first examination will be of Sociology while last would be Home Science. The examination, which will start at 11.30 a.m., will end at 1.00 p.m.
Major examinations for Class 10 will begin from November 30 and end on December 11.
