  • The AICTE has asked institutions to obtain an ‘undertaking’ from such ‘provisionally admitted’ students.

The All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE) has issued important circular regarding provisional admissions of private, patrachar and second compartment students under various Undergraduate (UG) courses.

In a letter to all its approved universities, deemed to be universities and institutions, the AICTE has directed that, “Those students seeking admission in higher studies in various courses whose results are not yet declared by the CBSE (including Private, Patrachar and Second compartment), shall allow them admission on provisional basis in their institutes/universities.”

The AICTE has further instructed its affiliated universities and institutions to obtain an ‘undertaking’ from such ‘provisionally admitted’ students that he/she shall submit their results within one week from the declaration of the results by the CBSE to their respective institution.

“Failing on submission of the results within the stipulated time, the provisional admission of the student shall stand cancelled,” the AICTE letter read.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Supreme Court on Monday said that private, 'patrachar' and second compartment students of CBSE Class 12 can apply for admission for higher studies on provisional basis.

The counsel appearing for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had informed the top Court that the result of Class 12 private, 'patrachar' and second compartment students would be declared by September 30.
