Ending all speculations, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday announced the much awaited term 2 and final results for Class 12 students. The overall pass percentage this year is 92.71% against the 99.37 pass percentage registered in 2021.

CBSE officials said that 33,432 students have secured more than 95% marks. Similarly, 1,34,797 students have secured 90 % and above marks.

As per official sources, the final marksheet has been prepared on the basis of weightage of marks secured by the students in both term 1 and 2 examinations. As per CBSE, the weightage for Term 1 is 30% and 70 % for Term 2 exam.

Trivandrum region has recorded the highest pass percentage of 98.83 % followed by Bengaluru (98.16 %) and Chennai (97.79%). The overall pass percentage in Bhubaneswar region stood at 90.37 %.

Teachers in Bhubaneswar region said that the studies of students were affected due to Covid-19 and they have worked hard in the last three months.

“I want to pursue my career in engineering and the results were as per my expectation,” said a student from Berhampur.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas(98.93%), Kendriya Vidyalayas (97.04%), other govt (93.38%) and govt-aided schools (94.81%) have achieved better pass percentage than independent and private schools (92.2%).
