Dharamshala: Dharamshala is fast emerging as a major sports destination in Himachal Pradesh as a result of several international level facilities set up here, Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said.
"International level sports infrastructure facilities have been created here and now international cricket matches are being organised. This only shows that Dharamshala is fast emerging as a major sports destination in the state," Dhumal said.
The Chief Minister, who was attending a function here last evening, said that a world class synthetic athletic track would also be constructed to train youth to compete at national and international level sports events.
Dhumal said that Dharamshala had also emerged as an international devotional and tourist destination, made possible by the presence of Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama, who resides here.
