In a horrific crime, as many as four drunkards allegedly perpetrated brutal sexual assault on a youth by inserting a steel glass into his rectum at Ramachandrapur village under Deogaon police station in Bolangir district on Wednesday evening.
The 19-year-old victim, identified as Karuna Bhoi, has sustained serious injuries in the violent sexual attack. He was initially admitted to the Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital for treatment. However, when his condition deteriorated later, he was shifted to the Burla Medical College and Hospital. He is stated to be serious.
The traumatised and terrified family members of the victim are still to lodge any police complaint in connection with the crime so far.
However, the Additional SP of Bolangir has ordered the Deogaon and Bandhapada police stations to launch an investigation into the incident after the story was broadcast on OTV.

According to reports, the incident took place on Wednesday evening when Karuna went to the side of a road near his village for his daily ablution. Little did he know the danger lurking ahead.
Suddenly, three drunken men allegedly appeared from nowhere. They allegedly brandished a pistol and started threatening him. Initially the drunken men allegedly hurled abuses at the victim before overpowering him. Afterwards, they allegedly forced a steel glass into his rectum.
Somehow, Karuna managed to free himself from the clutches of the attackers and reached home in a critical condition. He went through agonising pain due to the injury he had suffered in the attack which caused excessive bleeding. He was shifted to the Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital on Wednesday morning. Later he was moved to the Burla Medical College and hospital for a surgery.
“I don’t know the people who brutalised me. I was too shocked to realise what happened to me,” the victim told OTV briefly.
