Youth's body found in Bolangir, family members allege murder

The blood-soaked body of a youth was recovered at Pandarapita village under Sadar Police limits in Bolangir district. The deceased has been identified as Bhaskar Tandi.

As per initial reports, Bhaskar's body was found lying in a pool of blood at the village at around 10 pm on Saturday. On getting information, the family members rushed to the spot and shifted Bhaskar to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital. However, Bhaskar was declared dead upon arrival by the doctors at the hospital.

The family members alleged that Bhaskar had picked up a quarrel with some other people in the village in the morning. Later, Bhaskar was beaten to death by the same people at night, the family members alleged.

Following the incident, Police have detained one person in connection with the incident and further investigation is on.
