Youth ‘invited for a drink’ brutally murdered in Odisha’s Malkangiri

A youth has been brutally murdered after being allegedly invited for a drink at MV-8 village in Odisha's Malkangiri. The deceased has been identified as Milan Majumdar, a driver by profession.

Milan's body was subsequently dumped at a playground near Manasa colony village. It is suspected that the murder took place on Monday night and Milan’s body was recovered on Tuesday.

The exact reason behind the murder is unclear. However, the family members informed that a youth, identified as Bidhan from a neighbouring village, had called Milan and he left home at around 7 pm yesterday.

It is suspected that the youth, Milan and some others consumed liquor together at a place. It is not clear whether Milan was killed by Bidhan with the help of his associates following a dispute or whether there was involvement of someone else.

Surprisingly, the suspect Bidhan’s mobile phone is also switched off after the incident.

The entire family has been shattered as Milan was the only bread earner for the family. They are demanding a detailed investigation into the matter.

Meanwhile, police suspect that the murder took place following some altercations after liquor consumption.
