Man found dead in Khordha; family alleges murder over past rivalry

Panic gripped Manibandha village in Khordha district after the body of a person was found lying in a pool of blood on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Siba Nayak.

As per reports, the incident occurred on Saturday night. Sources said Nayak is a scrap vendor and it is alleged that he was killed by a youth over some past rivalry. 

The accused youth was initially attacked with a wooden plank and later hacked to death by a sharp-edged weapon.

Following the incident, the body of the deceased was seized and sent for post-mortem.

As per sources, police have detained a person in connection with the incident. Only after a detailed investigation, the exact reason behind the murder will be ascertained, police said.
