Youth ends life after quarrel with mother in Cuttack

The body of a youth has been recovered from his house at Kantapada village under Olatapur Police limits in Cuttack district. The deceased has been identified as Alok Sahu.

As per initial reports, Alok had allegedly locked himself in his house and later ended his life by hanging himself. It is said that there were some differences between Alok and his mother. Alok used to consume narcotics and allegedly used to beat his mother Shantilata.

Shantilata had earlier reported the matter to the local police station seeking intervention. It is suspected that Alok ended his life following the ongoing family feud.

On getting information, police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. An unnatural death case has been registered and further investigation in this connection is underway, said Sadar SDPO, Subhranshu Sekhar Parida.

“Yesterday, the youth ended his life by locking himself in his house. On getting information, a police team reached the spot. A case has been registered today. There were some family dispute and the matter is being investigated,” said Parida.
