Youth chased, attacked with sharp weapons in Bhubaneswar; hospitalized

Throwing an open challenge to the Commissionerate Police, miscreants attacked a youth with sharp weapons while chasing him near Master Canteen area in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. 

The severely injured youth, identified as Manoj Goud, was first rushed to the Capital Hospital. As his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. 

According to a source, Manoj, a resident of Bhanjanagar, and the miscreants, who attacked him, have criminal antecedents. They have cases pending against them at different police stations. Manoj had a dispute with the attackers over the distribution of snatched mobile phones and other looted articles. 

The dispute is said to be the reason behind the attack on Manoj.
