A youth was allegedly murdered by two miscreants on Friday night at Gandhinagarpada in Odisha’s Bolangir district.

The deceased has been identified as Arvind Singh. He was 36 and unmarried.

As per reports, two miscreants allegedly killed Arvind when he was sleeping in his house on Friday night.

Ranjit Singh Babu, father of the deceased, said, “I knocked at the door of my son’s house when two other people including one acquaintance of Arvind opened the door and said that my son was sleeping. When entered, I saw the body of my son lying in a pool of blood inside the house.”

“I shouted at the miscreants who then fled the spot,” Singh added.

Following the incident, a case was registered at the Bolangir Town Police Station. "The investigation is underway and the culprits will be nabbed soon," said a police official.

On the other hand, on Saturday, OTV got hold of a video of Arvind (the deceased), in which he can be seen walking with a man whom, his father, Ranjit Singh identified as one of the two miscreants who came out of Arvind’s room on Friday.

Ranjit Singh said, “I suspect the miscreants might have killed my son over monetary issue which has arisen after I started constructing my house nearby.”

As per the latest information, the Town Police have detained two persons in this connection with the case for questioning. However, the actual motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.
