In a bone-chilling incident, a woman used a king cobra to kill her businessman boyfriend in Uttarkhand’s Haldwani. The matter came to the fore after businessman Ankit Chauhan’s body was found in a car with snake bite marks.

Police have arrested a snake charmer in this connection while the accused girlfriend and her three aides are on the run, according to the Hindustan Times.

According to police, Ankit’s girlfriend identified as Mahi Arya, hired the snake charmer to get him killed with the help of her three friends. Police are now on the lookout for Mahi, her friend Deep Kandpal and her two house helpers.

During the investigation, police scanned the call records of Ankit and came to know about Mahi. Later, further interrogation of Mahi led them to the snake charmer Ramesh Nath from Uttar Pradesh. During interrogation, he confessed to releasing a cobra on Ankit.

The snake had bitten Ankit on his leg twice while he had visited Mahi’s house. Based on a complaint by Ankit’s sister Isha, police registered an FIR under Section 302 (murder) of IPC and formed four police teams to probe the case.

While no exact reason was known immediately, Mahi had convinced the snake charmer that Ankit was a habitual drunkard and would abuse her, which led her to take this extreme step.
