Woman found hanging in hotel room in Bhubaneswar, probe launched

A woman was found hanging in a room of a bar-cum-hotel in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. 

The deceased has been identified as Subhalaxmi Sahu, a resident of Kuabag village in Bhadrak district. 

Sahu had checked into the hotel located in Laxmisagar area at 3.20 am on Friday. After finding her hanging in her room (Room No- 205), the hotel staff immediately informed the Laxmisagar Police Station. 

Upon getting information, a team from the police station reached the hotel and recovered the body. Police said the autopsy would be done on Sunday only when the family members of the deceased arrive. 

While the reason behind her death is yet to be ascertained, the police have registered an unnatural death case and launched a probe. 

When asked, hotel manager Bhaskar Pattanayak said, “She had come as any normal customer. While she was alone she said she had come on some personal work.”
