A woman aged around 35 was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Shastri Nagar under Kharavel Nagar police limits on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Subhasree Mohapatra, wife of Ananta Narayan Nath who works at a private company in Bhubaneswar.

According to sources, Subhasree’s four-year old son found her lying on bed after returning from tuition and called the neighbours. He later informed his father by telephoning him through neighbour’s phone.  Subhasree’s husband rushed her to Capital hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.

As Subhasree’s neck has cut marks, it is being suspected that she has been strangulated to death.

Meanwhile, Commissionerate Police started investigation into it to ascertain whether it is a case of suicide or murder.

The deceased’s mother said, “Yesterday I visited my daughter’s house. In the evening, I got a call from my grandson and he told me crying my mother is not waking up. Then I rushed to her place only to find her dead. She has no enmity with anyone. The culprit should be punished.”

Subhasree’s husband said, “She was strangulated to death. I saw the cut-marks on her neck. Truth will come out after investigation.”
