Woman detained for defrauding cab drivers in Bhubaneswar 

The Commissionerate Police on Tuesday detained a woman on charges of defrauding several cab drivers including some from an app-based cab service aggregator. 

The lady fraudster has been identified as Subhashree Barik.

According to sources, Subhashree would hire cabs introducing her as an employee of Indian Oil Corporation to move around in Bhubaneswar city. She would then manage to hoodwink the drivers into believing her excuses and then flee from the spot without making payments. 

She had been cheating drivers in a similar manner over the last one month, informed sources adding that she had taken scores of drivers for a ride.

On Tuesday, her luck ran out as some drivers outsmarted her and nabbed her. Thereafter, they informed the police. On being informed, a team from Nayapalli Police Station reached the spot and rescued the woman. 

Police have detained her and are interrogating on the allegations.
