Woman, 6-Yr-Old Daughter Found Dead At In-Laws' House, Family Alleges Murder

Khordha: A woman and her six-year-old daughter were found dead at Patapur village under Khordha Town Police limits on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified by police as Rajashree from Subala village in Puri. She was married to Shiva Prasad Pati of Patapur since 2012.

Rajashree's six-year-old daughter was found dead beside her in her in-laws' house at Patapur.

After learning about the deaths, Rajashree’s family rushed to Khordha District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) where the bodies have been kept. The family members lodged an FIR at the Town Police Station alleging foul play.

Though the police are yet to comment on the reason behind the deaths, Rajashree’s family alleged that she was murdered by her in-laws, particularly by her husband who used to physically harass her regularly.

“My son-in-law Shiva has killed my daughter. No one else from the family could commit such a heinous crime,” said bereaved mother of Rajashree.

“Rajashree’s in-laws were too old and it is only their son, Shiva who could kill my daughter,” she alleged.

According to the family members, Rajashree had a conversation with them at 11 am today and she was normal. With her sudden death on the same day, the family suspect that she was murdered.
