A girl student has gone missing allegedly from Bhubaneswar railway student. The 20-year-old girl, Sweety Roy hails from North 24 Parganas (West Bengal) and was studying at Utkal Aerospace & Engineering College at Khandagiri area in Bhubaneswar.

Sweety’s father works with the BSF in Tripura. The family members said that Sweety had boarded the Jan Shatabdi Express from Howrah yesterday.

Sweety reportedly had called her mother after deboarding at Bhubaneswar railway station. However, the family could not contact her subsequently as her mobile phone was switched off.

On the request of the family members, one Suresh Panda (local guardian) has lodged a complaint with the GRP in connection with the incident.

“The girl had arrived at platform no.6 at Bhubaneswar railway station at around 8:06 pm yesterday. But nobody knows where she went subsequently. We immediately visited Nayapalli police station and again came to Bhubaneswar government railway police,” said Panda.

According to Panda, the family suspects that some miscreant might have kidnapped her by drugging her.

“The girl had spoken with her mother after arriving at Bhubaneswar,” he added. Meanwhile, the railway police officials could not be contacted over the issue.
