The Vigilance wing of the Odisha Police on Thursday put its scanner on two government officials accused of accumulating more property than they should earn from known sources of income. 

Officials of the anti-corruption agency conducted search operations at various places associated with Assistant Engineer Rushinath Baral working with Rural Development department in Ranpur of Nayagarh district. 

The search was carried out at four locations including the office and residence of the Assistant Engineer in the districts of Khordha, Nayagarh, and Dhenkanal.

According to the reports, four teams have been formed under the authority of four DSPs, eight inspectors and other staffs in order to carry out the raids.

During the search operation, one plot and cash of worth Rs 1, 30, 000 were unearthed from the possession of the Assistance Engineer Baral, the vigilance sources said. 

Meanwhile, another employee of Odisha Government, Ramesh Nag is also under vigilance scanner over DA charges. Ramesh, who works as head clerk in the office of Sub-collector at Sonepur, has been charged of accumulating illegal wealth.

Officials of Vigilance are conducting simultaneous searches at various locations of Sonepur, Bolangir and Sambalpur district including his residence at Shantipada, ancestral property at Talpalipada of Bolangir district and his office at Sonepur. 

However, Ramesh has denied all charges of corruption against him.
