The Odisha Vigilance on Friday conducted raids on the properties of an ASI of State Motor Vehicle Department to detect huge scale of property illegally stashed by him beyond his known sources of income.

The accused has been identified as Harekrushna Nayak who is working as an ASI of State Motor Vehicle Department in Jharsuguda.

As per sources, several teams of the anti-corruption wing led by three DSPs, 10 Inspectors and other staff conducted the simultaneous search operations on Nayak’s properties in as many as six places in Puri, Jharsuguda and Ganjam districts.

The raids are being conducted on the strength of search warrants issued by Special judge, Vigilance,Cuttack.

Apart from detection of Rs 4,46,000 cash, vigilance sleuths are carrying out search operation to detect illegal property reportedly owned by the accused official at the following places.

One double storeyed building located at Friends Colony under Mangalabag Police Station in Cuttack.

A double storeyed newly constructed building located at his native place at Maluda under Krushnaprasad Police Station in Puri.

Office of Nayak located at OMVD/RTO office, Jharsuguda.

Rented house of Nayak located at Biju Nagar in Jharsuguda.

Relative’s house located at Dhipasahi under Lanjipalli Police Station in Ganjam.

One double storyed building in the name of Nayak at Ram Nagar under Baidyanathpur Police Station in Berhampur.
