Vigilance arrests Koraput ARI
The Vigilance officials on Friday arrested Surendra Kumar Tanti, an Assistant Revenue Inspector (ARI) posted at Borigumma Tehsil of Koraput district after detecting massive assets amassed allegedly beyond his known income sources.
The arrest came a day after the Vigilance officials conducted simultaneous raids on the properties of Tanti at several places in Borigumma. The raid was carried out by Vigilance teams led by three DSPs, seven Inspectors, five ASIs, and other supporting staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore.

Investigation Findings
The Vigilance officials detected three double-storey houses spanning over an area of 2,000 square feet in Borigumma. The officials also detected 17 plots, bank deposits amounting to Rs 84 lakh, and various luxury items in the name of Tanti and other family members.
Further enquiries disclosed the possession of 150 grams of gold, cash totalling Rs1.5 lakh, and three four-wheelers, raising concerns over the unexplained wealth.

This move is part of a broader initiative to tackle corruption and ensure accountability among public officials, providing a reminder of the Odisha government's commitment to transparency. The vigilance operations continue as investigators probe into the sources of these substantial assets.
