Unidentified woman's body found in Cuttack, murder suspected

Body of an unidentified woman was found near Krushak Bazaar at Bidanasi in Cuttack on Wednesday.

As per reports, the body was found under a water tank. A liquor bottle was found near the body. It is suspected that the woman has been murdered. The identity of the woman is yet to be identified.

Upon being informed, Bidanasi police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the incident.

Some local people are being questioned by the police for tracing the identity of the woman.

“We are trying to identify the body of the woman. Following the identification of the body, it will be easier to investigate whether the woman has committed suicide or she has been killed,” said a police official.

A bag and a note were found near the body.

“A scientific team is collecting the vital evidences. The body will be sent for post-mortem soon. It will be too early to comment anything on the case. We will be in a position to comment anything after examining the reports,” said Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra.
