Two Class 10 girl students of Pankapal High School under Kujang police limits in Jagatsinghpur district have reportedly gone missing with their family members alleging that they have been kidnapped.

The duo had gone to their school on Tuesday but did not return home. While one girl hails from Badapal village, another is from Janhapal village.
As per sources, a common friend of the two girls got a call from an unknown number on Tuesday night in which the caller claimed that the duo had gone to Bhubaneswar.

On the basis of the complaint filed by the father of one of the girls, the police registered a case and launched an investigation. During investigation, the police came to know that the phone number from which the call was made belonged to an auto-driver.

Subha Prasad Biwal, father of one of the missing father said, “My daughter left for school at 10 am on Tuesday. We learnt about her disappearance at 4 pm. After not finding her at school we lodged a police complaint."

"The police through cell phone location tracking learnt that she was last spotted at Baramunda bus stand in Bhubaneswar. We are still clueless about her whereabouts. We doubt that my daughter has been kidnapped. I urge the police and media to rescue my daughter and her friend who is also missing. Though we asked her friends, the latter failed to give any satisfactory answers,” he added.

Umakant Behera, another student’s father said, “My daughter Biswarupa had gone to school. She has been missing since yesterday. We have carried out search through our relatives in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, but in vain. Police and district administration were informed about it, but police are yet to trace her and her friend. It’s a clear case of abduction.”
