Brajarajnagar Police on Monday arrested a person on the charges of sending threat messages on social media and emails to various central security agencies including NIA, ATS and others. The accused had allegedly posted some objectionable messages on his social media account as well.

On getting information about such messages, the inspector-in-charge had registered a case and managed to nab the accused.

Jharsuguda SP, Smit Parmar said, “We had got information that a person had sent threat emails to a lot of security agencies. He had created a Facebook account and to implicate his rivals and others, he had sent such threat emails.”

According to the SP, preliminary investigation reveals that the accused sent threat emails to various security agencies to create panic in the minds of agencies.

“Investigation is going on and after the initial probe, we have found that the accused did this out of jealousy and rivalry. A case under IPC sections 505, 506 and 66(C) IT Act has been registered and further investigation is underway,” the SP added.
