Unidentified miscreants have allegedly looted cash and gold ornaments from the residence of police constable in Kendrapara district on Friday night. The theft has now become the talk of the town.

The burglary was reported from the residence of constable Bimalendu Padhi at Jajanga in Kendrapara, posted at outpost number 1. The incident occurred when the constable along with his brother’s family had gone out on Raja vacation. However, the constable’s parents Asish and Minati Padhi were in the house when the robbery occurred.

As per sources, the miscreants entered the constable’s house from the terrace and looted gold ornaments and cash worth Rs 30,000 from two cupboards.

A complaint in this connection has been filed at Sadar police station and an investigation has started. Interestingly, the robbers have left behind an iron rod which might have been used to gain entry into the house.
