Disputes between house owners and tenants are not new. Sometimes the disputes even reach court while large-scale violence is also reported in other cases across the country. In one such case in Odisha, a landlord was allegedly murdered by his tenant following a dispute over vacating the rented accommodation.

The incident has been reported from Bausapal village under Kamakhyanagar in Dhenkanal district. The deceased has been identified as Rohit Pradhan.

As per initial reports, Rohit had rented out his house to one Nira Bhutia and his wife some one year back. As per the discussion, the couple was supposed to vacate the property after four months.

It is alleged that Nira got agitated when Rohit asked him to vacate the house as already the deadline had lapsed. Angry over it, Nira allegedly hit Rohit with a wooden plank, leading to his death.

Following the incident, police have arrested the accused tenant and further investigation in this connection is underway.
