Two miscreants caught on cam attacking businessman's car with sword
In yet another shocking incident that has raised concerns about public safety in Odisha's capital of Bhubaneswar, a group of miscreants brandishing deadly weapons created panic in the city late last night. The incident took place near Pandara Chhak under the jurisdiction of Badagada police station, where the armed attackers stormed into a commercial area and vandalized a businessman’s luxury car before fleeing the scene.
According to eyewitness accounts, two miscreants arrived on a motorbike, and one of them was clearly seen wielding a large machete. The group approached a local shop in the vicinity and began threatening people while showing off the weapon. The situation escalated when the attackers targeted a parked vehicle—a luxury car belonging to a prominent businessman in the area—and smashed its windshield and body with the machete.
The entire act of vandalism and intimidation was clearly captured in CCTV footage, which has now become a crucial part of the ongoing investigation. In the video, the accused are seen roaming fearlessly, brandishing weapons, and fleeing the scene moments after the attack.
Following the incident, Badagada police reached the spot and started a detailed investigation. Senior officials confirmed that they are analysing CCTV footage and taking statements from locals to ascertain the identity of the culprits. They also suspect that the motive behind the act could be personal rivalry or an attempt to instill fear in the local business community.
The businessman reportedly has identified the culprits and shared information with the local police station in connection with the incident.
The incident has sparked widespread concern among local residents and traders, many of whom now feel increasingly unsafe amid a string of similar attacks in recent months. Local shopkeepers have urged the administration to increase police patrolling in the area, especially during night-time hours, and take immediate and strict action against those involved.
This is not the first time such violent acts have been reported in Bhubaneswar, and citizens fear a possible breakdown in law and order if timely action is not taken. The police have assured the public that the accused will be arrested soon and that no one will be spared, regardless of their influence or background.
