The officials of the Vigilance Directorate on Thursday conducted simultaneous searches on the residence and properties linked to Abhimanyu Chaudhury, Sub-Inspector posted at Tamando police station in Bhubaneswar.

The searches were carried out on the allegation of the acquisition of disproportionate assets by Chaudhury. The raids are being carried out by Vigilance officials led by 3 Dy.SPs, 11 Inspectors, 6 ASIs and other staff at three places in Bhubaneswar and Nayagarh.

The vigilance has detected bank deposits to the tune of Rs 86 lakh in the name of Chaudhury.

Detection So Far

One four-storeyed building at Unit-18 Paiknagar, Bhubaneswar (10,000 sqft built up area). The valuation appears to be about Rs.1.5 crore. However, the technical team of Odisha Vigilance is carrying out measurements to assess the value.

One single-storeyed building at Nachhipur in Nayagarh.

8 plots including 7 plots in the prime area in and around Bhubaneswar and 1 plot in Nichhipur, Nayagarh. The measurement and valuation/assessment of the plots is being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing.

Bank deposits approx Rs.78.80 Lakhs.

Cash over Rs.1.75 Lakh. 3 two-wheelers.
