Spurned girl lands at lover’s pre-wedding ritual, threatens to end life

In a scene straight out of a Bollywood movie, a girl on Thursday night arrived at her alleged boyfriend’s house where the latter's pre-wedding ritual was underway and staged a demonstration on the marriage altar. She threatened to end her life if justice is not delivered to her. 

The incident was reported from Tota Sahi village under Balanga police limit of Nimapara block in Puri district. 

As per the allegation, Ramesh Mallik, a resident of Tota Sahi, befriended with the girl who hails from an area under Puri Town Police station. Later, they fell in love. On the pretext of marriage, Ramesh had also established physical relationship with her, it was alleged.  

On hearing that Ramesh was going to marry someone else, the victim came to his house at Tota Sahi and sat on the marriage altar. She said she wouldn’t budge till justice is delivered to her. 

“On the pretext of marriage, he had established physical relationship with me. When he came to know that I was one month pregnant, he gave me medicine for the termination of the pregnancy. He has ruined my life and is going to ruin yet another’s life,” she said. 

“If I don’t get justice, I will end my life,” she added. 
Since no police complaint has so far been lodged, reaction from the police couldn’t be obtained.
