The sons of a senior Odisha Police officer have been arrested by Bengaluru Police for their alleged involvement in a murder case in the southern State.

According to sources, Basudev and Anirudh, sons of Kesab Kumar Samantaray, who is presently posted as DSP in the State Crime Records Bureau, stay in Bengaluru.

As per the allegations, Basudev and Anirudh had a fight with a local resident identified as Loyd Nehemiya, one week ago.

Four days later, Nehemiya was found dead.

Based on the complaint lodged by the family members of the deceased, the Bengaluru Police arrested Basudev and Anirudh.

Commenting on the allegations Kesab Kumar Samantaray said, “Not Basudev and Anirudh, rather Nehemiya attacked my sons. We have also lodged a complaint from our side.”

“The fight started from their side. He (Nehemiya) came from nowhere and slapped my son. Before my son could understand anything, he chewed my son’s fingers off. My son even approached the local police station and raised questions about why the assaulter was not arrested,” Samantaray added.

“Nehemiya died four days after the incident. I am not sure why my sons were booked under Sec 302 of the IPC. Things will be clearer once we get the post-mortem report,” he stated.
