Shop looted at gun-point in Odisha, burglary caught on CCTV

Burglars looted cash and computer from a shop near Kuio under Sadar police limits in Angul district on Sunday. The entire loot incident has been caught on CCTV.

The robbery reportedly took place at around 8 pm on December 11.

Going by the CCTV footage, six masked miscreants barged into the shop when a father-son duo was present. The bike-borne miscreants attacked them all of a sudden injuring the father critically. The miscreants looted cash and computer before fleeing. 

“The armed miscreants attacked my father with sword as a result of which, he sustained severe injuries on his legs and back,” the shop owner said in his complaint. 

On basis of the CCTV footage, police have started an investigation.

Earlier, burglars had decamped with gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 20 lakh from a jewellery shop in Konark in April 2022. The video of the jewellery burglary was captured on CCTV.

The CCTV footage showed the entry of a man, and carrying out the loot while his associate was waiting outside the shop on a bike in which they later fled off.
