A minor girl alleged to have been sexually assaulted repeatedly during the shooting of an album at Bharatpur on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on Thursday.

The matter came to the fore after the victim and her family members lodged a complaint at the Bharatpur police station on Friday. In their complaint, they have mentioned three names including one Suraj Biswal, the lead actor and Bishnu, an artist supplier as the perpetrators of the crime.

As per the complaint, the girl works as a side dancer in albums.  Recently, she was offered a main character role in an album. The first phase of the album was shot on Thursday, only with an intention to convince her about her role.

The plot of the album was based on the much-publicised struggling model Soumya Ranjan Panigrahi’s suicide case. The model committed suicide at his residence in Nandan Vihar area of Capital city, holding his girl friend responsible for his death in his suicide note.

The victim was signed for the character of Soumya’s girlfriend.

The second phase of the shooting was held at a house in Bharatpur area on the same night. After being briefed about a hostage sequence that follows kidnapping, the miscreants allegedly tied up her limbs. The survivor alleged that Biswal raped her repeatedly thereafter.

On the basis of the victim’s compliant, the police have registered a case and a manhunt has been launched for the absconding trio.
