Sex racket operating under guise of saloon busted in Bhubaneswar

The Commissionerate Police busted a sex racket operating in a saloon near Rabi Talkies chhak on Saturday and rescued two women.

Acting on a tip off, a team of Badagada police raided the saloon named 'Diamond Salon and Spa' and detained a youth in connection with the case. Besides, the police have also laid its hand on incriminating material during the raid. 

The police have rescued two women and sent them for medical examination, sources said.

The matter came to fore after the local residents heard the scream of the lady who was being subjected to physical torture and informed the same to the police, sources informed, adding that the survivor was forced into prostitution. 

“We had no clue that sex racket was operating under the guise of spa. We suspect that the girl was made house arrest and forced into prostitution,” a local said.

“They have brought the lady promising her a job. But, later they forced her into prostitution. When the victim opposed, she was kept under house arrest and subjected to physical torture. When the brother of the victim came to her rescue, he was attacked,” another local said.

Further investigation into the matter is on.
