Setting dog on lady journalist case: Police visits ex-minister and BJD leader's house for 2nd time

Police visited BJD leader Raghunandan Das' residence for the second time regarding allegations of setting his dogs on a lady journalist. The incident occurred while she was covering a demolition near his house.

Setting dog on lady journalist case: Police visits ex-minister and BJD leader's house for 2nd time

Police on Saturday visited the residence of BJD leader and former Minister Raghunandan Das in connection with the allegations of setting his dogs at a lady journalist.

The Capital Police visited the BJD leader’s residence in Bhubaneswar for the second time on Saturday. The last time they visited was on June 26, a day after the incident. 

As per reports, on June 25, a lady journalist of a local news channel had gone to cover the demolition being carried out on the premises of another BJD leader Pranab Prakash Das’ government quarters adjacent to the residence of Raghunandan Das. While she was trying to shoot from the side of Raghunandan’s residence, she got his goat. At the behest of him, his associate allegedly let the dogs loose at her.

The senior BJD leader found himself in the eye of the storm as several working journalists hit the streets in Bhubaneswar to protest against him. 

When asked, Capital police station IIC Sudhansu Bhushan Jena said, “Our investigation is underway. One phase of interrogation has already been done. Once the investigation is over, I will share the details with you.”
