The Commissionerate Police has recovered a secret diary and several other important materials while searching the residence of blackmailer Archana Nag’s husband, Jagabandhu Chand, after his arrest on Friday.

As per reports, Jagabandhu, who was on a run, was finally traced today and picked up from his residence in Satya Vihar. His involvement in the high-profile blackmailing racket led to his arrest. 

During the search, police recovered four mobile phones and a laptop from his possession. However, still suspense looms over the secret diary if it will reveal any person’s name or not. 

Meanwhile, DCP Pratik Singh has affirmed that the persons involved in the case will face legal consequences as applicable.

"Based on the case lodged on October 2, we arrested Archana Nag on October 6. And, the police investigation into the case is underway from different angles. After analysing all the allegations and facts, Khandagiri Police arrested Jagabandhu Chand today from his house. Allegations of conspiracy and especially abetment against Jagabandhu are prima facie established," said Singh.

"We have recovered four mobile phones, a laptop, a diary, and some documents from his possession. After questioning, Khandagiri Police today arrested and forwarded him to court," informed the DCP.

Singh further said that the statement of the victim has been recorded. And after a detailed investigation and completing the financial analysis, the allegations were established and he was subsequently arrested, he said adding that police will take action against all those found involved in the crime.

Speaking on the financial details of the accused couple, Singh said, "We had sought account details of Achana Nag and Jagabandhu from RBI and other banks. We have received the bank statements and now studying the transactions from all sources for a detailed financial analysis."
