Mystery shrouds the death of State Bank of India (SBI) manager, whose body was recovered from a hotel room in Deogah district. The deceased has been identified as Subash Agarwal of Ainthapali area in Sambalpur district.

It was only four days back that Agarwal, who is posted as manager (Cash Administrative Sales) of SBI, had come to Deogarh after his transfer. As Agarwal had not arranged accommodation, he was staying in the hotel. Moreover, Agarwal along with other family members had attended a function a day before his death.

His family had come to Deogarh to attend a marriage function that was scheduled to be held today. Sources said as Agarwal did not pick up his phone, the family members rushed to the spot to inquire. Even he had not opened the door when the room service staff knocked today morning.

Though the exact reason behind Agarwal's death is not clear, police reached the spot and sent his body for autopsy.

The family members of the deceased claimed that they have no clue about the incident, as there was no dispute in the family.

“It was only three days back that he had joined his duty here. We have no idea what happened as he could not do anything on his own,” said a relative.
