Unidentified miscreants looted cash from an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) kiosk of the State Bank of India (SBI) near Remuna Khirachora Gopinath temple in Balasore late on Saturday night.

So far, it is not clear on the exact amount looted from the cash dispenser of the ATM. It is suspected that the miscreants used a gas cutter and other equipment to break open the ATM to steal the cash. Sources said that cash was filled in the ATM kiosk yesterday.

The loot of cash from SBI near the temple has raised questions on the security measures as a police outpost is located near the spot. Only after the bank authorities reach the spot, a clear picture of the exact amount of cash looted from the ATM will be known, reports said.

The bank authorities were yet to reach the spot during the filing of this report. Meanwhile, police have reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
