Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday registered one more case against Rajendra Dash, ex-accounts officer of Reamal block in Deogarh for possessing disproportionate assets of over Rs 8 crore.

Dash was earlier arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 6000 from a complainant for processing the release of pending bills in his favour towards the construction of Anganwadi Centre. He was sent to jail custody till July 7 and was released on bail the same day.

On Tuesday, Dash was arrested by the Vigilance for possessing disproportionate assets worth Rs 8,04, 64, 645 which is 514 percent of his known sources of income.

Senior Vigilance Officials informed that the assets include 8 buildings, 3 plots, and bank deposits of over Rs 1.70 crore.

During the searches conducted on the house of Dash on June 27 and June 28, the team of Vigilance detected movable and immovable assets worth crores.

“After a thorough search, inventory, and further probe, the income, expenditure, and assets of Dash were calculated and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 8,04,64,645 which constituted 514 % of his known sources of income,” said Vigilance in a release.
