Once again the ragging horror has surfaced in Odisha. This time one MBBS student has been subject to physical assault by his seniors. The matter has been reported from MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.

As per initial reports, the second year MBBS student from Balasore was allegedly beaten up by two seniors. The incident occurred on February 9, 2024. The matter came to light after the father of the victim MBBS student lodged a complaint with Baidyanathpur police after getting information about the incident.

It is alleged that the second year MBBS student was staying in the gents hostel and was beaten up allegedly by two seniors when he was returning from band rehearsals.

The victim second year MBBS student has sustained injuries on the face and neck in the assault. The family members have also brought the matter to the notice of MKCG authorities, SP and other officials through a social media post on X (Formerly known as Twitter).

Meanwhile, MKCG Principal Prof Santosh Mishra, “The Second year student has reported the matter to the anti-ragging cell. After getting information, an inquiry has been launched and necessary steps will be taken by the cell after the investigation.”
