Police may grill Archana; Opposition flays govt for keeping mum on her linkages

The Commissionerate Police seems to have prepared well to quiz lady blackmailer Archana Nag in jail. Police are likely to take Archana on remand.

According to sources, police have sought permission of Sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Court in Bhubaneswar to take the lady blackmailer on remand and interrogate her in Jharpada jail.

During interrogation, police are confident of extracting information regarding Archana’s links with VIPs, sources of income and who were backing her.

It is learnt that for the safety reasons Archan will be kept inside the cell. Earlier, Archana filed a petition in Bhubaneswar SDJM court seeking bail. She appeared in the court through a video conference.

On the other hand, the lady blackmailer Archana Nag’s case seems to be getting murkier constantly with new facts emerging every day.  

Of late, Archana, her husband Jagabandhu Chand and former Speaker and Digapahandi MLA Surya Narayan Patra were seen in a single frame. Archana’s photo with Patra has gone viral. 

Meanwhile, OTV has got exclusive byte of Purohit Harisankar Satpathy on it. Jaleswar-based Satpathy  said, “During my visit to Archana’s bungalow in Bhubaneswar, I had confronted with the ex-Speaker many-a-times.  I performed rituals during house-warming ceremony of Archana’s bungalow and Patra was present with the couple on the occasion.”

However, Patra was unavailable to make any comment on it. 

After the photo of ex-Speaker with the lady blackmailer and her husband surfaced, the Bharatiya Janata Party has accused the state government of shielding its leaders by not initiating a probe into it. 

“Though many ruling MLAs have connections with the lady blackmailer, the government in a bid to save its image from not being tarnished removed a leader from the list of party campaigners,” alleged BJP leaders. 

BJP President of OBC Morcha Surath Biswal said, “The government is not interested to probe the connection between Archana and its leaders.  Investigation should be done to ascertain the link its leaders are having with the lady. Besides, some names of its leaders are yet to be disclosed. The government’s silence on the issue is really questionable.” 

Meanwhile, another interesting fact pertaining to the high value bike of Archana’s husband Jagabandhu Chand has come to the fore. His costly bike Harley Davidson bike is missing. It is more visible outside Archan’s house.  CCTV footage available from spot showed that a Tata AC vehicle was taking the bike to somewhere. 

According to sources, a youth who is Archana’s tenant named Abhishek had parked the bike there two months back. But it is now missing.
