Police foil kidnapping bid, rescue girl in Odisha’s Cuttack 

Police rescued a girl and nabbed a suspected kidnapper at Rajnagar area under Athagarh police limits in Cuttack on Monday. 

The kidnapper, identified as a resident of Bentapadar area under the same police limits who works as a JE with the TPCL, is being interrogated at Athagarh police station to ascertain the motive behind the bid. 

Athagarh police received a call informing them that a youth had forced a girl, who was going somewhere riding a scooter, into his car near a forested area at Rajnagar.  The police immediately swung into action. They passed the information to the Barang police station. 

On being informed, Barang police station blocked the road and started checking the vehicles. During this, they spotted a car coming towards them at a great speed. Somehow they stopped the car and nabbed the youth. The cops also rescued the girl. 

A detailed investigation is underway, police said.
